The day-by-day amaal

One amaal for each of the forty days after burial. Day 1 is the day of the burial itself.

Day 1
Surah Yaseen
One tasbeeh of Salawatالصلوات
Allah will appoint 1000 angels on the grave who will ask forgiveness for the deceased.
Day 2
Ziyarat Ashura
One tasbeeh of Ayat-e-Kareemaلا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين
Imam Hussain (a.s.) comes to the grave for a meeting, along with Prophet Essa and Khizr (a.s.).
Day 3
Surah Naba
One tasbeeh of Bismillahبسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
The deceased's soul will be allowed to perform hajj in nayabat of Imam Hussain (a.s.), or an umrah if it is not the Hajj season.
Day 4
Surah Dukhan
One tasbeeh of Ya Shaheedoيا شهيد
The deceased will be allowed to visit Karbala first and then his own home in this world.
Day 5
Surah Dahr (al-Insan)
One tasbeeh of Ya Baasituيا باسط
Thirst will be quenched from the Stream of Kausar and he will be fed from the dinner spread (dastarkhan) of Imam Zamana (a.s.).
Day 6
Surah al-Fath
Tasbeeh of Ya Fatehoيا فتاح
He will be counted among the martyrs of Uhad and in the army of Imam Mahdi (a.s.).
Day 7
Surah ar-Rahman, and whenever you recite the verse 'فبأي آلاء ربكما تكذبان', say after it: 'لا بشيء من آلائك رب أكذب'
One tasbeeh of Ya Rahmaanoيا رحمن
His rank will be increased in the army of the Imam (a.s.).
Day 8
Surah al-Waqi'ah
One tasbeeh of Ya Hakeemoيا حكيم
He will be blessed with the opportunity for acquisition of knowledge through the representative of the Imam (a.s.).
Day 9
Surah al-Ahzab
One tasbeeh of Ya Mominoيا مؤمن
The deceased gets the blessing of ziyarat of the Cloak of Tatheer.
Day 10
Dua Nudba and Dua Ahad
One tasbeeh of Ya Qawiyoيا قوي
The deceased gets an invitation from the village of the Imam (a.s.).
Day 11
Ziyarat Aal-e-Yasin
Tasbeeh of Ya Asraa'ul Hasebeenيا أسرع الحاسبين
His accounting will be easier on the Day of Judgment.
Day 12
Surah al-Mulk
One tasbeeh of Ya Wahidoيا واحد
From Barzakh, he will be elevated to the house of Imam Mahdi (a.s.).
Day 13
Surah ar-Rum
One tasbeeh of Ya Qudoosoيا قدوس
He will get success and the shade of the army of Imam Mahdi (a.s.).
Day 14
Surah al-Hashr
Tasbeeh of Ya Raaoofoيا رؤوف
The deceased will be given a heavenly crown, and seventy thousand angels will be at his grave.
Day 15
Surah al-Fajr
Tasbeeh of Ya Al-Awalيا الأول
The deceased will be raised as a companion of Imam Hussain (a.s.), amongst those who attained martyrdom under the flagship of Imam Hussain (a.s.).
Day 16
Surah ash-Shams
Tasbeeh of Ya Aakhiroيا آخر
His status will be elevated, and he will be bestowed with the pleasure of Allah.
Day 17
Surah al-Hadeed
Tasbeeh of Ya Baaisoيا باعث
The deceased will not be punished with the chastisement of Allah and will be able to ask for others too.
Day 18
Surah al-Burooj
Tasbeeh of Ya Kabeeroيا كبير
The deceased will be blessed with Ziyarat of the Holy Prophet and the Masoomeen (a.s.).
Day 19
Surah an-Noor
Tasbeeh of Ya Salaamoيا سلام
The deceased will be given a light (noor) by which he can meet his loved ones.
Day 20
Surah ash-Shura
Tasbeeh of Ya Samadيا صمد
He will be mentioned in the list of lovers of Ameer ul Momineen (a.s.) and those who attained the level of completing the rights of the Ahlul Bayt.
Day 21
Surah al-Mominoon
A tasbeeh of Ya Moizuيا معز
Allah will elevate his status and prestige.
Day 22
Surah Fatir
A tasbeeh of Ya Aliيا علي
The doors of the heavens will be opened for the deceased and he will be allowed to attend majlis for the first time.
Day 23
Surah Luqman
A tasbeeh of Ya Tawaaboيا تواب
The deceased will be allowed intercession for others too.
Day 24
Surah at-Tagabun
Tasbeeh of Ya Vakeeloيا وكيل
One angel as a Wakeel will be appointed for him to complete his responsibilities and obligations.
Day 25
Surah at-Tehreem
Tasbeeh of Ya Kafeeloيا كفيل
The deceased will be blessed to do ablution with Zamzam and quench his thirst with it. His status will also be elevated.
Day 26
Surah an-Nisa
Tasbeeh of Ya Kareemoيا كريم
The grave of the deceased will be increased in width and converted into a palace, and the doors of Hawz-e-Kausar will be opened towards it.
Day 27
Surah at-Tawbah
Tasbeeh of Ya Afwيا عفو
His enemies in this world will be destroyed.
Day 28
Surah Taha
Tasbeeh of Ya Subhaanيا سبحان
The deceased will be given a Hoori.
Day 29
The first four verses of Surah al-Baqarah and Ayat Kursi, followed by the last three verses of Surah al-Baqarah
Tasbeeh of Ya Mubdeeoيا مبدئ
He will be blessed to meet Ameer ul Momineen (a.s.) and will be raised along with him on the Day of Judgement.
Day 30
Surah al-Aaraf
Tasbeeh of Ya Moheminoيا مهيمن
The deceased will be able to overcome Satan's power and the fear of Qayamat.
Day 31
Surah al-Anfaal
Tasbeeh of Ya Wadoodoيا ودود
The deceased will be blessed to travel to the heavens and fulfil his three desires.
Day 32
Surah Nuh
Tasbeeh of Ya Ahadيا أحد
He will be able to view his house in Jannat.
Day 33
Surah al-Alaq
Tasbeeh of Ya Mufateh al-baabيا مفتح الأبواب
The deceased will be given a high place among the martyrs.
Day 34
Surah Ale-Imran
Tasbeeh of Ya Hakeemoيا حكيم
The deceased will be given Buraaq through the angels.
Day 35
Surah Yunus
A tasbeeh of Ya Furqaanيا فرقان
The deceased will be blessed and will be given a divine drink.
Day 36
Surah Yusuf
Tasbeeh of Ya Mubdeeoيا مبدئ
The deceased will be blessed with the beauty of Prophet Yusuf and will get a special Noor.
Day 37
Surah an-Nahl
Tasbeeh of Ya Muheetيا محيط
The deceased will get the opportunity to recite Quran among the people of the heavens.
Day 38
Surah al-Kahf
Tasbeeh of Ya Qayyumoيا قيوم
The deceased will get the opportunity to visit the cave of Kahf and other ziyarats of Syria.
Day 39
Surah al-Ambiya
Tasbeeh of Ya Rahim ash-Sheikh al-Kabeerيا راحم الشيخ الكبير
The deceased will be helped in accountability by the Prophets.
Day 40
Surah al-Muzammil
A tasbeeh of Ya Quddoosيا قدوس
The deceased will be given Chadar-e-Yamani, and his house of this world will never see poverty.
